Jenkins student greeted by Bobcat MascotThe New School Year is off to a Great Beginning!

As we wrap-up our first two weeks of school for this fall semester, 2021, we have 3,780 students in attendance as of September 1st.

Each one of those students means the world to us. Their daily learning and their daily welfare is  part of our accountability in service to ALL of our students.

With breakfast and lunch provided at no cost to students, we are thankful that everyone has the opportunity to start their day with nutrients that help provide the necessary energy to focus on tasks.

Academics are now in full swing. Learning is taking place. Athletics have kicked off with the fall season moving forward. GO HHS TORNADOES!  GO GRANDVIEW EAGLES! GO NORTHVIEW HAWKS!

And everyone has been supportive with the required masks. Covid numbers and quarantines are up in Catawba County; and we are thankful for our Board voting for all staff, students and visitors to wear a mask while inside school facilities. SAFETY FIRST!

As we move forward through September and the fall season, please stay in touch with each of our nine schools--and in particular, if you have  children attending any of the schools, keep up with scheduled weekly/monthly activities, classroom requirements, student assignments and contact teachers with any inquiries.

A thankful "SHOUT-OUT"  to our families, volunteers, students, bus drivers, maintenance team, child nutrition team, all office staff, nurses, social workers, teacher assistants,  teachers, administrators--everyone who contributes each day to making Hickory Public Schools a fabulous school district!

Watch for the Good News newsletter that is posted at the end of each month. Stay safe and healthy!
