Leadership 2000....And Beyond

Leadership 2000...And Beyond is an internship program which provides hands-on experience in the workplace.  Students commit to work 30 hours per summer for three years.  The first summer they work with Non-Profit Organizations and the second year they are in a governmental agency.  The final year students are placed in private businesses, preferable an area they would like to pursue as a career.  Students also attend Leadership Seminars throughout the school year on relevant topics such as human relations, communication skills, and interview techniques.

Students are selected in the spring of their eighth grade year.  Selection is based on the applicants' academic performance, attendance, written essays, and letters of recommendations.  The selection committee is comprised of a representative from a Non-Profit Agency, a Governmental Agency, and from the private sector.
